Forever a Secret

The cool night air,
The bright night sky,
Wind blowing through my hair,
I start to cry.
The moon's complexion,
Shimmers brightly,
As the stars perfection,
Entrances me.
The feel of mists,
Surround my being,
Sleep, I resist,
For that's not what I'm needing.

I think of her face, so fair!
Surveying the sky,
My eyes fill tears,
As the hours go by.
My love I suspend,
As I've done before.
I can't let this end.
Not like I did before.
I see her in my dreams,
I see her in my wake,
I see her all the time, it seems,
With every breath I take!

She doesn't know I love her,
She doesn't know I care
Every time she looks at me,
I just give a vacant stare.
Dumbfounded by her presence,
Perplexed by her eyes,
I stare at her evanescence,
Unable to say, "Good-bye!"
She may never know I love her,
For I can't just tell her so.
Her mere existence, my emotions stir,
But I can't ever let her go.

So what am I to do?
I can't just watch her leave.
But I can't seem to make it through,
If my love, to her, I relieve.
She's all my eyes can ever see,
As my tounge accepts the taboo.
So my heart locks away the key,
To release the words, "I love you."
It is she that can unlock my heart,
Restoring my mind anew,
She can force my lips apart,
If only she really knew.
