All Over Again

by Stef   Feb 20, 2005

Take the heart, but leave me the pain.
I promise to love you all over again.
And when it’s all done and we’ve walked away
I want you to know that I’ll still be the same.
Leave all the lies when you steal the truth.
Forget the days when we lived happily as youth.
Memories darkened with tears that we cried.
I remember I promised to love you till I died.
It wasn’t the reason that you left me alone.
I thought about it while I walked on home.
It could have been easy with all that was said.
But I figured that maybe we’d use it instead.
It was nothing for nothing, a fair trade in the end.
And I know that you swore you’d always be my friend.
I remember you crying and I remember the night.
I wished on a star that it would all be all right.
Finally paths crossed and we saw the past.
Take it or leave it, it happened so fast.
Confused and lonely we slept in our beds.
The music we sang repeating loud in our heads.
I meant forever when I kissed the rain.
I promise to love you all over again.
