Thank You

A friend once told me
To open my heart
To give a lot
And only take so little
He was a lover not a hater
He knew me better than ever
The night we broke up
I was dumb and wanting more
I told him I found another
and there was no more of us
As I walked away
My tears dried up
I hated myself the 8 months
I spent with the "other" I thought
Could make me feel good
All I got was conceded lies.
The day his dad died was the day I fell apart
How could god take away
from such a good family?
He turned to me
Instead of his friends
He told me it was okay
And that love was still there
I was afraid to open myself up
But he held my hand and never gave up.
One week later his grandfather passed as well
I have not yet said I was sorry
But I hope this helps:
David if you're reading this I love with all my heart.
YOU have made my grass a deeper green and my sky a darker blue.
I want you to know I am here for you always.
Even if it's over the phone
or on line.
I love you David Gunderson!
