Untouched

by Rachael   Feb 21, 2005

A bitter wind ravaged the leaves
and swayed the trees
but was nothing compared to her thoughts.
The reality of being alone
felt like home in her soul.
The emptiness and sorrow was overwhelming
but had no reason to subside,
Her feelings have nowhere to go
as she is trapped inside herself.
The world swirls around her but she is stuck,
almost as though she were frozen in time...
She sees it all slipping away,
She is screaming inside
but no words come out,
No one hears her cries
as she slowly dies.
She is numb,
Untouched by the world,
Untouched by anyone,
Simply untouched...

That poem was deep. Was that how you were feeling at the time?
