Four roses of death

by Christina Gomes   Feb 21, 2005

Love was something special
It bloomed for the two
They fell deeply in love
And their love was definitely true

At first they were shy
Would barely speak to each other
But as time went by
They knew it would last forever

They were happy together
With no other way
Perfect for each other
She knew he would stay

They'd spend all day together
And all night on the phone
Always in each other's hearts
They were never alone

One month had past
And their love only grew
She cared so much
More than he ever knew

He gave her a ring
Filled with promises from his heart
They'd always be together
Never would they part

Five more months gone
And their 6 month anniversary came
She was so delighted
Their love would never be the same

Her smile was filled with joy
His life was filled with gleam
They were destined to be one
Reality had become a dream

Perfect went beyond perfect
As everything was great
She couldn't believe it was true
Even though it was fate

What a great life
1 year has past
Everyday they would cherish
They're love would last

She was finally happy
Life was on her side
Things were going good for once
None of the bad she kept inside

She felt so great
Now that things were good
She had somebody
Somebody who understood

As she thought all this
How she was truly happy
Life was taking a turn
A turn she didn't see

The next day
He took her out on a date
He said it would be a HUGE surprise
And she couldn't wait

On the date he gave her roses
4 to be exactly right
She was flattered by the unexpected gift
This was such a great night

She was a little confused though
Of all numbers why four?
He saw her confusion and smiled
And began to explain what each was for

"The first rose is for our time together,
The second is for my love to you
The third is for all our memories
And the fourth is for what I'm about to do"

She was still confused
What's going on?
He took a note from his pocket
And looked at her like his world was gone

He gave the not to her
And she started reading
Every last word on the note
As she slowly stopped smiling

When she had finished
Tears rolled down her cheek
She just looked at him
With no words to speak

He got up and held her
In his arms where she wanted to stay
He took one more look at her
And then turned and walked away

A few days later
She was found
Lying dead
On her bedroom ground

With 8 roses
4 red and 4 black
A note was held in her hand
They were about to see what made her crack

"I have 8 roses with me
The red are his and the black are mine
Each of my flowers have a meaning
Of why I'm not fine

The first black rose is for my love
And how much he cared
How I could always rely on him
Knowing he'd be there

The second is for our memories
And how happy they seem to be
How i love each and everyone
And how i let it slip away from me

The third rose is for my heart
How he broke this love so true
And how i didn't even see it coming
And last, the fourth is for what I'm going to do..."
