Sun Shines

by Jenica Norris   Jul 24, 2003

The sun shines so bright above me,
and as I lay in the shade of this tree,
the breeze flows lightly over me.

It grows cold as I lay under this tree,
goosebumps show on the arms of me,
the sun shines so bright above me.

A cold, hard wind stirs the tree,
the rustle of leaves above me,
the breeze flows lightly over me.

Clouds come in from either side of me,
surround me as if in a circle of a tree,
the sun shines so bright above me.

A rain breaks from the clouds above me,
splattering as hard as can be,
the breeze flows lightly over me.

A downpour of rain on either side of me,
and I, dry as a bone under the tree,
the sun shines so bright above me,
the breeze flows lightly over me.
