He came back for me

The day he left was the day I died
The day he'd gone so many tears I cried
He didn't want to go, but the choice was not his own
The second he left my arms I knew I was alone
The year he was away was the hardest in my life
Because the only thing I wanted was to become his wife
For him it was so hard, to even want to be alive
But my baby boy is strong, he has amazing drive
But despite his love I strayed away
And made a mistake in which now I have to pay
I thought for sure I’d never get him back
Because of the things I did, maturity I lacked
I thought that he was gone, to me he would never return
Losing him was a painful lesson I thought I was about to learn
I wanted him to come back for me the day that he was free
And the day he was out of his Hell, my baby boy still came back to me
