After A Great Love....

by brin macnamara   Feb 22, 2005

I allowed you to hurt me with words.
Slander my heart with false smiles whilst offering no compromise of affection.
I allowed you to shatter my heart,
and permitted you to walk away carefree.

I allowed you to ignore, to chastise me as you would a small child.
To defile Love, to riducle any affection I hold for anyone or anything.
And I permitted you to postulate that your affair was 'Normal'.
I allowed you to convince me by inference that I am ugly, unattractive, stupid, not a man such as he.

I chose to become mute when you accused me of insanity, of becoming \'weird\' when I display affection.
We live in different hemispheres.
Your heart is not capable of comprehending a Love such as mine.
I have no need of celluloid stimulation,
nor the sublimation that exercise brings.

I may not make the Next Edition
but I sure as hell will try.
For I Will Allow Myself To Try.
After A Great Love Comes A Great Hate....
