My Dream Has Gone

In my life I had only one dream
But misery conquered me
And it drifted behind a screen
And I realized it was never to be

That dream, once my safety net
The place that was so secure
Was a dream I was forced to forget
It was an escape, fiction but pure

And last night I was reminded of this dream
That my depression turned me from
I try to return but it remains behind a screen
And I wan to die … because my dream has gone.
