Always Remember!

by Erica Taylor   Feb 27, 2005

I can't explain
what you mean to me
because I'd loose myself
in an emotional sea

i can't explain
why we don't hangout much
i guess were to busy
but i truly miss us

just the other day
i noticed your smile
the way you are so pleasant
and everyone's friend for awhile

I've noticed how you talk
and the way you lead on
as though everyone's your best friend
if the other is gone

i know your happy face
i know when your sad
most of the time
i try to make you feel glad

but I'm one of the worst
friends you've probably ever got
I'm so careless
when it's worth a lot

i get the real you
that try's to find time
to just sit with me
and recite line's

but it's not the lines
that we recite back and forth
we always become so in depth
and personal toward

i appreciate your caring
i appreciate your laugh
i miss those surfing days
they flew by too fast

just know your still special
as special as can be
even when I'm so focused on school
and annoyed every moment we meet

i love you
for everything you are
i trust you'll move on and get far

but just remember I'm always here
i know I'm not a perfect friend
but I'm down to lend an ear

it's my heart
that's telling you
how i feel
i hope you remember
because I'd cry
if i ever lost you at this time

something about you
i can't loose touch
your so much like me
but there is definitely two separates to us

remember I'll listen
remembering i won't judge
remember I'm your friend
that isn't going to budge

remember I'll laugh
remember I'll cry
anytime you need me
remember I'll try

so just keep plugging away
at that crazy life of yours
i will always be here waiting
if there something you need more

Love, Erica

This was sad and reminded me of a situation I myself was in not too long ago, its so hard to loose a best friend let alone move on in life without them. You wrote this poem beautifully I enjoyed reading it very much and look forward to reading more of your poetry - keep it up! Eirisa
