One more tomorrow

by nikki @~~   Feb 28, 2005

Did you give a smile in passing today, that could have brightened someone's day?
Did you stop to talk with a stranger, or just brush past them on your way?

Did you maybe give a helping hand, to someone there in need?
Did you stop to help mend a hurting heart, that knew only how to bleed?

Did you use the day God gave you, to add a little something more?
To this floundering, fast-lane world, that wasn't there before?

Did you answer a child’s question, she wanted so curiously to know?
Or did you ignore her wondering eyes, because you were late and had to go?

Did you waste today, or hold it, in your hands and drink it in,
will there be a little more hope today, in the places where you have been?

Did you leave a trail of happiness, or a mark of anger behind?
Did you pass by someone who needed you, because you couldn't find the time?

Will the world remember your face, or just the sight of your hurried back?
Will you have at the end of the day a moment, when you can recall and say, 'I'm proud of that.’?

When you close your eyes to sleep tonight, can you honestly say you know,
God will say, 'For the things that you have done today, you have earned one more tomorrow.'
