Insanity

by shenoa   Feb 28, 2005

An eerie sound crept though the halls
as i lay awake in bed
i shot strait up in an instant
as a loud scream echoed in my head

i got up and ran to the door
peaking out to see what was there
i hand instant goose bumps
that stood up each little hair

it was so quit and dark
that empty house of mine
the only thing that could be seen
was the kitchen light shine

i slip out of my room
patting to my sister's door
i opened it to step inside
but stopped at the blood on the floor

what i saw, i cant comprehend
i didn't know what was going on
blood was everywhere you could imagine
the smell was just so strong

i couldn't breath, couldn't speak
i couldn't even begin to move
this couldn't be happening
to believe, i refused

then i heard it, that soft song
from somewhere down the hall
then i heard it, whispering my name
such a pleading call

i slowly made my way to the light
past the blood covered walls
my heart hurt with every step
down the shadowed abandoned hall

the soft music still played
as i stepped into the light
i held back a sickening scream
at such a horrific sight

the man who stood there
seemed as normal as could be
besides the blood he was covered in
and the obvious insanity

he looked at me pleadingly
begging for my help
i didn't know what to do
i just gave a little yelp

i turned to run away
but was caught on my way out
felt the blade against my skin
had no time to shout

my blood flowed down my neck
past my chest to the floor
i lay there fatally wounded
but for him, i was just one more

i lay there conscious
knowing my death is near
but in my paralyzed state
i could only but shed a tear

like an innocent child
he painted himself red
with the blood of my mangled body
lying on the floor... dead...
