Friendship bends

by inaudible confessions   Mar 1, 2005

It's so unexpected
the way things turn out
whether it's something you foresee
or something you doubt

like standing beneath the stars
getting lost in his embrace
not caring that people can see
or that winter is numbing my face

i love the way his fingers
intertwine with mine
i love the way his touch
makes me lose track of time

his laughter is contagious
his smile seems so real
and i hope that what he shows
is also what he can feel

neither of us figured
we'd ever be more than friends
but sometimes it happens
that friendship bends

and the next thing i know
he's holding me tight
clouding the loneliness
pushing pain out of sight

nothing else matters
in this moment of bliss
and i would willingly stay
forever like this

but every fling
must come to an end
and you can only hope
the friendship will mend

*true story. the title sucks. so does the poem. it didn't turn out like i wanted. oh well. please comment/vote if you have a second. i'd appreciate it, thanks.*
