My Truth *Resubmitted*

by cac123   Mar 5, 2005

She looks at all the smiling faces
she does not belong
carry her away on the wings of an angel
because, this girl is wrong.

She hides away her pain
away from all of them
because she's so afraid
of what they might condemn.

Again she's put in the spotlight
she closes her eyes and hopes
but her barrier is penetrated
questioning her will to cope

Darkness sweeps over
poisoning her porcelain skin
and cast into solitude
this is her depression.

Claustrophobic in her house
confined to her room thats where,
she pours he heart into a small notebook
which is the only thing that cares.

She tries so hard
to blend in and belong
she is tired of hearing,
her desperate memory song,

Only a few accept her
for who she is and can be
even still she hides somethings,
her truth is too ugly to see.

Everyone is fooled everyday,
by her happy face
but sometimes it is just too much
to much for her to take.

She's always comparing herself
to what she could never be
she is chained down,
never to be free,

It's no one else's problem
she has a screwed up life
shes supposed to deal with it
and not break down in strife

But what if she can't hold on much longer?
like everyone preaches to her
what if she let her life go downhill?
leaving her in a blurr

She can't fix what's been broken
or undo whats been done
her life's no longer precious
her depression has won.

She desperatley tries,
to make everyone see,
that she is who she is,
and thats all she can be,

So please try to understand,
her life is not uncouth,
she no longer wants to hide,
or to cover up her truth,

One small thing...."and thats who she can only be," Something like "And that's all that she can be" seems to fit better, but that's just me. Very expressive, well done.
