A Rose

by Ten Feet Tall   Mar 5, 2005

Beneath the silent shadows
A Rose, laid to rest
Softly placed, gently and beautiful
Across her porcelain chest

Three days ago it happened
One cannot forget
“A self-inflicted gun-shot”
No one knew how she felt

Emotion swelled inside her
Too much pain, hate
His lying became too much
Jealousy too great

A Rose withered away
Dried in the July sun
Nothing left to live for
Though her life had just begun

don't like the middle stanzas as well as the first and last, however, it was a heartbreaking poem, great potential!!.....-5!

    with love,
    Heather.
