What lies ahead...

by Laura   Mar 6, 2005

It was just another normal day,
As usual your not home,
You've gone out with your friends,
And left me here alone.
You've told mom and dad,
Your just going out,
Somewhere with some friends,
To see a movie, no doubt.
But thats obviously not true,
It's just another lie,
For your really gonna go get drunk,
Possibly get high.
You don't think to much of it,
You do it all the time,
You try and hide that awful smell,
But its easy enough to find.
You used to be my hero,
I really looked up to you,
You were my older sister,
I can't believe the stuff you now do.
The day i heard you smoked dat weed,
I felt so ashamed,
You do it for the hell of it,
And theres only you to blame.
You told me it was nothing,
Weed never killed anyone,
But just last night i walked outside,
And my emotion changed a ton.
There you were,
Smoking a cigarette,
Don't you understand,
Thats something your gonna regret.
What if one night,
You get drunk,
And need to get home fast,
Or your test you will tomorrow flunk.
You hop in a car,
With a driver so drunk,
He gets driving to fast,
And he hits a stump.
The car then flips,
Lands on its top,
Killing you both,
With only the sound of a pop.
It happened that fast,
With one little mistake,
You died in that car,
As it lands in a lake.
Once the word is out,
Everyone starts to cry,
Because everyone loved,
The ones that had died.
No one could have imagined,
The pain i was in,
Knowing I'd not only lost my big sister,
But also my best friend.
