Just Out of Reach

It is just out of reach,
I can see it,
But I can’t grasp it.

This is something that
Is very important to me.
But I just can’t
Get a hold of it.

What am I to do?
Give up, let someone
Else get my prize possession?
Or do I fight for it?
Do everything I can?

Few things are more
Important than this item.
If I lost it, I would
Positively want to die.

But things are going
All wrong, and it looks
Like it is getting farther
And farther out of my reach.
All of this is due to me.
I had to make some stupid
Mistake for it to start
To drift away.

But what could it be?
What did I do?

I’m so lost…and my
Prize possession is just
Of reach.
