That Perfect Day

by Molly Elizabeth   Mar 7, 2005

Beautiful it was
the day you left
the sun so high
like nothing could bring it down.
Sweet was the smell
that lingered in the air.
Birds in flight
fill there surroundings with song,
such a perfect day...
knowing nothing could go wrong.

But things were said,
and rights went wrong.
That perfect day,
didn't last very long.
Clouds and storms
now filled my skies
Tears soon well up
in my eyes,
The words you said
flooded through my mind,
and that perfect day
I couldn't find.

Now that the storms have began
it seems they'll never cease.
I know now
that without you
I will never live in peace.
The pain is overwhelming
my heart is soaking through
knowing If I say "I love you,"
you'll never say, "I love you too."
