I Die For You

by Angel Sanctuary ©   Mar 8, 2005

Hand me the dagger you hold
Place in on my chest
And please press down hard

I rather my blood spill
Than to see yours fall
Cut me deep please

I rather be absent from life
So I can see you live right
To watch you shine bright

Cast me gently into the dark
And take me to a place of worship
And drift away while you live your life

If it takes my whole life
To make things right
It will be worth it

Because I can only tell you
That I love you so much
That the knife you hold
Will only burn in my chest

And please when I fall for you
Do not look down to see where I fell
Just walk away and be free for me

I will continue to shine on you
To protect you from the demons of the world
But I can only do that when I die

Do not cry for me
I’m happy to die for you
So you can feel alright

I’m tired of watching you cry
The tears that fall all night
No more of that sight

I’ll be your last tear drop
I’ll fall to the ground
And evaporate from your mind

If I live another day
And hear you’ve cried again
My heart will surely break
