I Never Had You

by Kimberly Day   Mar 8, 2005

You never heard me,
When I tried to make you see,
How our precious time was coming to an end?
But you forced me to pretend,
That I had you,
But I know now for sure,
I never did have you.

You made me believe I was everything to you,
Now am I anything at all to you?
You made me believe we had it all,
Now look at me tell me the truth.
How could we have it all?
When you let me fall?
You said you loved me.
And I loved you too.
But I never had you.

I kept telling myself,
Things would work out.
I held on,
Even though it hurt so bad.
But how could I do that?
You just didnt want to stay.
But I continued to dream of the diffrent ending we could have,
But it was you,
That I never had.

Thanks for you comment. This poem isnt actually about me, but about a friend and her ex-fiance. I wrote it for her, considering the fact that I think all us girls have been there at one time or another.
