My Little Angel (poem about growing up)

by Jordana   Mar 8, 2005

My Little Angel
My little angel, quiet and sweet.
All curled up, deep in sleep.
Sleeping softly in my arms,
A bundle of joy, golden charms.

My little angel, first day of school.
Crying and upset, must follow the rule.
Alone and confused, scared and shy,
I want to take her back, kiss her tears goodbye.

My little angel, graduating from school.
All grown up, looking all cool.
Has herself a boyfriend, a cute one indeed.
I hope she will be careful, in a life I can not lead.

My little angel, gone like the moon.
I’ll see her again, she’ll come back soon.
So tiny and fragile, gorgeous as well.
Standing in front, of that big wedding bell.

My little angel, you musn’t cry.
For we’ll meet again, after time goes by.
I’ll see you in Heaven, so close yet so far.
And then you will see, how close we still are.

My little angel, you’ve come here with me.
And now you will see, how it feels to be free.
Watch over your children, as I did for you.
Protect them from harm, for they must live too.

My little angel, up in the sky.
Soaring above ground, up here so high.
I called you my angel, for that’s what you are.
You’ll always be an angel, no matter where you are.

My little angel, I must go back down.
For I hear the cries, of the new baby in town.
I must go away, but we’ll meet once more.
Up here in Heaven, where dreams fly and soar.
