Invader of my Dreams

Invader of my Dreams

Why must you taunt me so
These dreams are mine, you must go
We are over, that was your choice
With a scarred heart, and eyes always moist

But you visit my dreams
Invade the only place I am safe
You force me to wake, thinking of you
You the invader of my dreams

You are guilty for creating my conscious dreams
Plans we made, only real for me
I wake in the middle of the night against the backdrop of screams
For once again, you invaded my dreams

Why do you visit me so
Is this a sign of me not letting go
Or does it have a deeper meaning
Chances for a new beginning

If I invited you, you must stay
Not this time, don’t go away
For it would shatter what is left
For you would steal my heart again, that is theft

You there, welcome to my world
Filtering in the fog of my sleep
You have invaded my peace
My love for you, so very deep

Invade if you will, I can not stop you now
My soul is open to you, now and forever
Allow your soul to invade my heart
Invade my dreams, be down right clever

You changed my life, invader of time
My priorities changed, it is the journey
Create new dreams, new mountains to climb
Join me forever, for the world to see
