One Day

I lay next to you
enjoying each little moment
your hand splayed across my stomach
just wondering what it meant

i ask you quietly
"what is it your thinking?"
you shrug slightly
and say, "oh, it's nothing..."

i look at your beautiful face
as you travel back into that land
watch you smile sweetly
as you slightly move your hand

i place my hand over yours
smile as you look up at me
quietly ask you again
"what is it that you see?"

you look back down
and gave a little sigh
you stretched the silence out
as the time passed by

"just imagining one day,
my baby kicking inside you..."
you hold you hand still
expecting it to move

you look up at me
such innocence in your eyes
such a sweet little moment
almost makes me cry

i smile down at you
and all i have to say
with a simple little kiss
"maybe, one day..."
