Think not harsh thoughts

by Timothy   Mar 9, 2005

Think not harsh thoughts,
And a gnashing of the teeth;
Remember what the Lord hath wrought,
And what He doth bequeath.
Do not recall animosity, wherever it reigns,
Dwell on the power of love, and what it contains;
Let loose jealousy, to the receding tide,
And wash away, dear love, your sin, and brandish hopefulness with pride.

Think not harsh thoughts,
To your heart a needless strain;
Recollect the human endeavor, and to what it sought,
Rise above, O' Enlightened One, to what buffoons consider in vain.
Thy moment is at hand,
The pinnacle of decision, lowly or to be grand;
Humanity has the ability to hold hatred, but love thou has also captured,
From Antiquity to the Rapture.
