The flower

by broken angel   Mar 11, 2005

If you could see into her life
And know why she cries
You could understand the pain
If you saw it through her eyes
At night she hides within herself
To fight away her fears
The taste of salt on her tongue
She likes to drink her tears
The smell of alcohol on his breath
His eyes burn with distain
He grabs her rough and throws her down
His pleasure now her pain
Blood drizzles down her cheek
Her body on the floor
His hateful words cut too deep
She can’t take anymore
Her heartbeat stops, her body cold
A flower made of ice
His blows proved too costly
She paid the final price
Her past is told, her life’s over
No story was ever graver
If you had known her little secret
You would have been able to save her
