Identity

by tender69   Mar 12, 2005

Identity is found
In the darkest of thought
A trail of clues
That leads to what’s sought

The nevers and won’ts
That get caught up
The broken rules
That were never forgot

Identity is love
Wrapped around your heart
That tangles and intertwines
Forever a part

Your identity is
Decisions you've made
People you love
And people you hate

Deep inside
Your identity hides
For those you adore
Only to find

I like music
And song and dance
I'll give you my heart
If you give me the chance

Who I am is special
Not like anybody
And that is how
I want it to be

~a friend at wits end
