Unknown Stranger

I stare at a stranger before me
She seems unknown but true
I look into her eyes
But she seems to look right through

Absent minded; empty stares
Silent needs; unspoken prayers
Her thoughts are known; her face tells all
She messed it up; she took the fall

A stranger stares at me & longs
Just where, oh where did I go wrong?
I turn & leave the mirror behind
Twisted thoughts return to mind
