A Dark Poem

A Dark Poem

It is dark in here,
Where is the light?
What is crawling up my leg?
Now calm my fright.

Perhaps I can make way
Over to the wall
And feel for a switch
Oh let me now fall!

There is the switch,
Oh glory be!
Where am I at?
Only God knows–Not me.

This place is strange
It is another world
Where creatures of darkness
Fly with wings unfurled.

I will not stay here,
I will return to the light
Where sun-up to sun-down
Song birds take flight.
