Boy of Fifteen

by Michelle   Mar 16, 2005

Its hard losing a friend
Let me tell you
When their far away
Way above the moon

I'll tell you the story
About how the world started shifting
If you haven't heard already
It's about a boy of fifteen

I didn't know him well
But on the bus, he seemed fun
Listening to him and my friend
Laughing, joking, and saying weird puns

Everyone knew him
He had friends left and right
He was never in trouble
And was never in a fight

I never saw him again
Not after that year
His parents home schooled him
My memories of him a blur

Summer has passed
We begin a new year
Middle school is over
And High School is here

He's now mentioned everywhere
In the paper and TV
Nothing big but small
Just enough for the world to see

The tragedy that fell upon him
And six others at that
All it was, was a innocent meeting
Church meeting in a matter of fact

The man was crazy
Caught in depression
He went to the hotel to the meeting
And started shooting at everyone

No one was ready
Nor prepared
No one really is
Can happen anywhere

But the life of this boy
One happy and full of spirit
Everyone was saddened
Some didn't want to believe it

When I first heard
I didn't remember
Looked in the yearbook
And there was his picture
and his name...
