NoTHING i cAn Do

I wonder what love could be,
If there’s really such a thing.
Surely, though, it must be more,
Than empty promises, and a ring.
You can’t proclaim, “I love you”,
When there’s really nothing there.
So why would you fake affection,
If you can’t find the time to care.
I see right through your smile,
I feel coldness in your kiss.
I notice all the little things,
Yet you’re still the one I miss.
I’ve loved enough to realize,
Life isn’t set in stone.
People change and they move on,
But I still wish you were my own.
I’m searching for stabillity,
And I thought it was in you.
But life can never stay the same,
There’s nothing I can do.
