Two Wounded Souls

by Molly Elizabeth   Mar 19, 2005

We were two wounded souls
we came together
and for a while
it took away the pain.

I had mistaken
comfort for love
depended on you
and needed you
should have known
I can't rely on you.

You sympathies worst enemy
Jealousy and envy...
So demanding
so controlling
you wanted me all to yourself
but you don't own me,
you've never really known me!

We were two wounded souls
I guess you've healed
and now leave just one
So alone, so hurt...
I cry to myself
but no ones around,
not a sound can be heard,
but the echo of my tears as they hit the ground.

We were two wounded souls,
together it took away the pain.
Apart...
we have nothing!
