An Ancient Mist Rolls Back

by Ð맆îñ¥   Mar 23, 2005

An ancient mist rolls back
I realize what it is I lack
My mind is filled with ancient images of you
Dusty rooms from when you loved me too
I underestimated my affection
Another broken image to add to the collection
I thought I was free while tied to a chair
Joy once filled, no room for despair
Love took me unwillingly, unknown
Ripped me apart, I was left with the bone
Skeletal fragments litter our lives
One more moment, you’ll forget those knives
They’re cutting your hands, please no
Please, times been hard to us, and now it’s too slow
Point them another way; show them their home
Will you go now, just leave and roam
My mind lies dormant; I’m trying to wake it
But my body’s in segments; it has split
You were here but now you’ve gone
A lasting shadow from when the sun shone
Have you noticed you’re a missing person?
I’m telling you now before you can worsen
You used to be fine; I used to love you
Your body is broken through all you’ve been through
Past thoughts are shouting at me
‘Grin and bear it or turn and flee’
