The Storm: Part I

by Amilo   Mar 26, 2005

I was inspired to write this piece during a storm, a few weeks back. This is part I.

-The Storm : Part I-

the slabs of grey clouds churned
by the wrath of the wind furious
at the selfishness of the sun who until now
has proudly stalked our skies

the trees must suffer through it too
slender arms flung about
helplessly, tightened roots at the rumbling
mother earth

I alone stand under the shadow of
the grey clouds, who ask for my sympathy while
the eye of the storm fixes upon me
with a mighty stroke, the wind uplifts my soul

to the tearful heavens

Looking past the mispelling of heavens in the last line, it's a beautiful poem, very well written -5
