Still Hope

by mysterious   Mar 26, 2005

When endurance has failed
And patience runs dry,
When there's nothing more you can do
Except break down and cry,
When the whole world has turned against you
And all your hope is gone,
Be thou brave
And keep yourself strong.

When the only one who mattered
And who held your trust in their palm,
Couldn't even bother
And was oh so carefree and calm,
For all the things you've been through
And times when sacrifices didn't come with ease,
How could you be so foolish
To sentence you heart to greave

Guess you've learned your lesson the hard way
Hope you still have the courage to move on
And not stay,
Hurry and don't think you can wait
Pick yourself up and get out before it's too late!

I thought that this was an okay poem. Some of the lines ran a little long which I felt detracted from the poem. Perhaps shortening the lines would make the poem have a nicer flow. Keep writing!
