I could have died yesterday

I almost died yesterday
A car didn’t hit me that wasn’t the way.
No one held a gun to my head
No one killed me in my bed
My friends were not home,
I was all alone.
My boyfriend was out with a friend,
and I was awaiting my life to end.
I just wanted someone to talk to.
I really didn’t know what to do.
so I took a bunch of pills.. A hit of a drug
Cut a couple lines across my wrist, my form of a hug.
Around my neck I tied a noose.
Made it tight, it wasn’t loose.
Tried to kick the chair out from under me,
It wouldn’t budge how could this be?
I wanted so bad to say goodbye,
Cuz I knew no one would ever cry.
I almost died yesterday,
and no one even looked my way.
I could have died yesterday while you were out with your friend
and you wouldn’t have even known that my life came to an end.
