Never Let Me Down

by Jamin Huchingson   Mar 28, 2005

Remember you said you’d never let me down
How could I even begin to doubt
Cause you looked me in the eyes
Told me there was nothing to worry about
I believed you, couldn't believe
You could deceive, me
How could you, you’d never let me down
But you allow me to drown in my tears
The past means nothing now
No matter how many years
You’ll never let me down
The words I remember the most
When I was gone on the coast
Received the news that you had cheated
My love you just threw aside and mistreated
My walls fell and I was completely defeated

But you would never let me down
Felt like I’d been kicked to the ground
Someone stomped on my chest
Till there was nothing left
No trace
Of anything it had been erased
Nothing at all but a bitter taste

My heart crushed
I tried to move on
Each day a new dawn
But the feeling still lingers
The touch of your skin still on my fingers

I took you back
But I should of know you’d
Strike again
Before I was mended
You took me for granted again

And once again I’m in the same place
With this bitter taste
You come over but then run back to him
You smile with a fake grin
Telling me you’ll never let me down
Maybe this time I won’t let my self
Let me down
