The End of The World

by StormyWeather   Mar 28, 2005

** This poem is not all supposed to rhyme. the first and last two verses are supposed to rhyme but for the others, the rhyme falls on the 1st and 3rd lines. Thanks...**

I can hear you screaming
I can hear your cry
But I don’t really give a damn
As I sit and watch you die

It’s the end of the world you say
And time is running out
The time has come for Judgement Day
And you’re all terrified

You say your prayers for one last night
As your life is engulfed in flames
The end of the world set your soul alight
And the people can love no more

Today they said their final goodbyes
The tears just would not drop
But they saw the sorrow in your eyes
And knew the end was near

You told no lies on this final hour
And couldn’t afford to be bitter
As you gave in to that higher power
You cursed your so-called saviour

Accuse me of anarchy, call me a freak
For the day is upon you all
A day to separate the strong from the weak
You’d better be ready to fall

For today is the day you finally see
That God’s gonna let you cry
For this is the story of how it came to be
And the end of your world is nigh
