As You Find

by Carlee Ann   Mar 29, 2005

A poet's work is full of dreams
Words in the perfect blend
So if I share my rhyme with you
You must be a true friend
For what leaves my pen
Are more than just words
They show where my emotions begin
And are where my thoughts rest assured
I can express my love, my pain
My dreams, my joy, my feelings
It's how I keep from going insane
When my anger is reeling
Through my pen I bleed
I write of the pains of past abuse
It's the refuge that I need
To stand and face the truth
When it feels like I am sinking
My rhythm pulls me out
And I get to thinking
What I'm really all about
I write when I am inspired
When I'm tired of being confused
About what life desires
Or about other's attitudes
So dear soul, as you find
My heart's truth that lifts
Please hold them dear and keep in mind
My words are not poetry, but are my gifts
