War

by simi   Mar 30, 2005

Children are crying, depressed and alone
fires are burning and their left with no home
crashing and roaring, thunder is heard
people are dying sprawled in the dirt

mothers weeping softly under their breath
widows are mourning their husbands death
homes are destroyed, cities and towns
when will it stop and all calm down

wounds form scars, and pain in the mind
relief from war, these people won't find
they've been through the worst, the worst of all
still suffering pain, from that first fall

they've seen things from nightmares deep and dark,
imagine the horror, just try and grasp
the deceit and the lies, the greed for fame
their death meant nothing, just government games

deformed twins from radiation are born to a mother
whose only wish was healthy little brothers
sickness and disease that wont go away
they're pain cant be eased, by the words you say

don't you just wonder if the politics know what they do
id love to see George bush and john Howard too
see the deformed little children, protected from harm
by their loving, caring mothers in Vietnam

maybe their eyes would open, maybe they'd see
what they're doing is wrong, and destroying families
maybe they'd understand the pain that they cause
and with love replace greed and force

and one day i dream to see a world of peace
with grass growing, and blossoming trees
with no threat of war, and all bombs destroyed
but my dreams only a dream, an empty void
