Let me be just what I want,
And who I want to be,
Don’t try to force my fashion sense,
And just let me be free,

Don’t turn your nose up high,
To my tastes in disgust,
Let me be what I want to be,
Let me be whom I must,

Just because I like the things,
That you never did,
Just because you don’t see my face,
And the emotions that it has hid,

Don’t judge me sisters,
For I try not to judge you,
Just love me and help me along,
With all that I want to do,

If I listen to music,
That you hate so much,
If I hide my face,
And shy away from your touch,

Do not judge me because,
You can’t see behind my mask,
You can’t see me shying away,
An almost impossible task,

Don’t tell me I’m miserable,
And don’t tell me I’m ugly,
Just look in my eyes and see,
That my heart is truly lovely,

I don’t judge your moods,
Make you feel bad about your dress,
I spend my time hiding,
From the things that you do best,

So put me down one more time,
Tell me that I’m a state,
Tell me I’m not beautiful,
And that my face is full of hate,

Don’t look at me one more time,
When I shy away,
Just keep your perfect mouths tight shut,
And please just don’t say,

Struggling for your affection,
I can’t get your approval,
So I’ll just sit here, tears on my face,
Busy with make up removal,

If my sisters could look at me,
And make me feel good,
And give me back my self-confidence,
Just love me how I should,
