Shattered then Strong

by Caitlyn   Apr 1, 2005

Certain things fall broken and shattered
Where they land in shallow depth
Standing tall against the dark shadows
Where I creep and sneak past
They hover over me like a giant wave
Ready to snatch me into their grave
Lies fly by without notice
And children holler and scream
Tears drop like rain in a cloudy sky
And the grass grows green
They stand tall against the shadows
Where the sun will peak again
They build back up and are strong
And the lies wither and die
Children are left laughing and playing
And the waves are warm and calm
I stand up and walk again
Without creeping past the pain
That once stood over me
Like dead trees in the rain
