A Fork in the Road

A Fork in the Road

My path of life has reached a fork after oh so long a way
I took the road you lie upon to never go astray

You light the way with sparkling eyes and smiles so bright and true
I close my eyes and follow my heart, it leads me straight to you

With open arms you let me in, for a while we become one
Entwined together, bodies melting, pulses start to run

We only have ourselves to blame for where we do now stand
If I had a choice in this, nowhere else would I choose to land

My worth I’ll prove, your trust I’ll earn a little every day
I give my heart and soul to you, I’m in this all the way

Just take your time to choose your way, I think you’ll find in the end
That as you choose your own life’s way I’ll be standing around the bend

For both our roads have taken forks that gently lead together
And never again will they drift apart, I am yours forever
