The Path of Lovers Lost

by Reddo Tori   Apr 1, 2005

Through the night
I walk the path
Of dreams and tears and misery
And each tree
Of which I see
Your handsome face, grinning happily.

I miss those times
So long ago
We shared our love like lovers true
I put my head down
Then fall to the ground
Weeping, like broken lovers do.

The trees all around me
They rustle and creak
And reach to the ground to caress me
I grab hold of a bough
Pull myself off the ground
And cry to the spirits, so wild and free.

I walk the path
Then run the path
To the river that took you away
I stare at the water
One second i falter
To be with you, my love, my life I'd pay.

I throw myself in
A moment I drift
Before getting pulled to the floor
My eyes hone
On my lover's bones
My beautiful love from the moors.

I stare at his skull
His ribs, his spine
I ignore my lungs complaining for air
I close my eyes
I wait to die
I'll lay with my true love for now and forever.
