It all turns to gray

by Unrequited   Apr 1, 2005

The cuts on my skin
as the blood seeps from within
the colors will not stay
as it all turns to gray

i turn to watch the sky
it’s gray today; i wonder why
the graveyard; such a lovely place
i want to hide there, from my scarred face

the blackened misery stands at my side
i feel so gray, as my worlds collide
my arch angel came down from the sky
i thought he’d be white, not the color of my eyes

he reached inside and pulled out my heart
so cold and so gray, it begins to fall apart
existing no more, breathing no more
i fall to the ground; i’ve lost the war

look at my hand, a picture i hold
a picture so gray, so beautiful, so cold
this image of you holds nothing but love
but now i am gone, you couldn’t give me enough

spyders crawl on my skin
they cover my body and fill it with sin
now you look at the sky each and every day
so warm and so blue, the gray has faded away

the graveyard; such a lovely place
now i live there, with my memories erased
u sit here crying, praying to God above
as you look at the picture, dark and gray… but filled with my love
