Tears of a clown

by Unrequited   Apr 2, 2005

Eternal damnation
of a crying clown
a masque he wears
to hide his frown

a life full of loss
keeps his spirit down
listen as he cries
a heart-breaking sound

he feels so lost
he feels out of place
so a masque full of tears
covers his face

“oh, guardian angel
please hear my cries
i want this pain no more
don’t keep me alive

break my hands
carve my face
inside i scream
it is my blood that i taste”

these are the thoughts
of a crying clown
a masque he wears
to hide his frown

if death he craves
death he will get
to end his life
with no more regrets

a masque filled with tears
is all that remains
as we bury the clown
and the clouds begin to rain

the sky is crying tonight
