How Badly my Heart Bleeds

by rachyBBY   Apr 3, 2005

You only see the outer layer
The skin, the face, the hair
You can never see what's underneath
Because all you'd do is stare

I'll wear this mask forever
So no one truly sees
No one can know how weak I am
Or how badly my heart bleeds

All they see is the smile on my face
But there's no stars in my eyes
When they look at me they see happiness
But hear no silent, pleading cries

No one sees the crystal tears
That are always falling down
No one sees my unhappiness
Or all the saddened frowns

No one takes their time
To actually look at the real me
So I guess they'll never know
How badly my heart bleeds.
