The midnight stars

by Rachel   Aug 25, 2003

I lay upon the grass beside the bank,
I stare up at the midnight stars above,
The stars were brighter than ever before,
The moonlight blinded my eyes.

As i watched the twinkling stars,
Thoughts ran through my head,
Of when one time i'd be up there,
Looking down instead.

Too many to count,
I daren't even try,
Just watched them twinkling brightly,
No one questioned why.

People all around me,
They all stared up too,
The stars were just so glittery,
You'd feel the same if it was you.

I thought of when one time ahead,
I'd be looking down on someone else,
Wondering if they were looking up,
At the lustrious stars that brightly caught their eye.

When i look at the srars,
Nothing else exists,
My world is smaller than ever before,
Consisting of old myths.

The moon that lit the sky so bright,
Shone down and smiled at me,
The stars that circled hi8m everywhere,
Were too radiant not to see.

My world was full of glorious feelings,
Feelings i never wanted to let go of,
They took over my souland made me shine,
As brightly as the sky that made me cry.
