Daddy

Daddy

My eyes fill with tears, as I listen to your words,
Memories of all our years, chirping like the birds,
You listened to before.

We listen to his songs, both knowing he is right,
Makes me wonder what my life will be like,
When one day you’re not around.

I look into your eyes daddy, knowing you are mine,
Knowing the time you leave, will be the time,
I’ll treasure our memories like a shrine.

Your eyes tell me everything daddy,
They open up your soul,
I love to read your thoughts that way,
I know they’ve stayed the same, through youth and old.

I look at you now every day,
Watch the way you talk and act,
Listen to the things you think and say.
Treasuring each word like the gold it’s worth.

I wish I could thank you, for such a wonderful Mum,
Now I know how you always knew she was the one.
I wish I knew how to show you,
That without the sister I have,
I’d be lost.
My family, the life you all gave me.

I know that your smell will always be with me,
The image of your smile, something I’ll never not be able to see,
Stuck in my mind like a vision of a king with his queen.

The days are going by, and we’re so much older now,
I’m sitting here today, trying to imagine how, I’ll be ok when you are gone.

I’m a younger version of you daddy,
And that makes me so proud,
That’s why we fight and shout,
And why I scream out loud.

But even when that happens,
I know things are still fine,
Because you’ll always be my daddy,
You’re there for me all the time,
And I love you for that.

Don’t think I never think of you,
Because I do every day,
I remember every minute we’ve shared,
I remember you in every way.

I never want to forget these things daddy,
Because they’re part of what makes me who I am.
I just wanted to say thank you,
For being who you are,
Watching over me to keep my safe,
Like the protective shining star that watches Mum.

I know sometimes you think I don’t care,
But just know I’ll think of you even when you aren’t here.

Thank you for singing to me,
And stroking my hair,
And giving me the precious memories,
We both now share.

I love you more than life itself daddy and I always will.

Awwwww.... That's so sweet. I'm a daddy's girl. I deeply know how you feel. I don't know what I'd do without my father around. He loves me very much in every way. I cannot imagine not having him someday. It would break my heart.

    Best wishes,
