An Ode to Rememberance

by Liz   Apr 8, 2005

I hope my little black dress makes you melt.
Makes you remember the way my hand in yours felt.
Makes you remember our first kiss.
The way touching my skin made you feel sweet bliss.
The way I used to make you smile,
Even if only for a while.
The way we walked side by side together.
The way you made my heart feel as light as a feather.
I wanted to come out tonight and see your reaction...
I never thought I would still feel the attraction.
You were my first love
I knew from the moment I met you, you were sent from above.
I first met you at the beginning of college.
It was there that I acquired my first taste of real knowledge.
I guess my little black dress did more than make you melt.
It made me remember everything that was good...and all the things together we felt.
I don't understand why we couldn't have last.
Best not think, it's all in the past.
I'll always remember what you made me feel.
It was so unbelievable, I wish it could still be real.
Seeing you tonight, made my heart again melt.
I guess I'll never understand how I managed the hand I was dealt.
