I’ve found a way to be free of you,
And I can hardly contain my glee
For when I rebuke you in God’s name
You’ll have no chance but to flee!
The answer to all the questions I’ve asked
Cannot be found in you,
It’s only found in God’s Holy Word,
And now, with your wiles, I’m through.
No amount of grasping, breathing
Down my neck you spill
Can take me away from this new revelation
And following my One God’s Will.
Light, only Light, shining from outstretched hands
Soaking; seeing each newfound word,
Reading the Truth He’s given to me
And not listening to your lies I once heard.
Tell me, my old Darkness…
Doest though put me in my urn?
No, I say, for you cannot share
This grace that I did not earn.
Now where do you go?
I turn my thoughts from you
And kick you where it counts the most
And hold me sides laughing too!
Here, finally I now stand
Looking up into the Son,
Seeing for the first time, the wind
After this long, hard battle We’ve Won.
